Singing Rock Recall Certain Harnesses

Singing Rock, division of Lanex a.s., issued today a Preventive Recall communication for the Harness Models CRUX, NARA & NEMO

This is a PREVENTIVE RECALL communication for the Harness Model CRUX, NARA
and NEMO. Following in this letter is explained the reason for the recall (also see annex file:
Preventive Recall notice) how Singing Rock division of Lanex a.s. will manage it (the
exchange of products and explain the solution took for the issue) and the time frame for all
partners receive all the reposition products back. It is clear that all transportation cost will be held by the side of Singing Rock and together with all the distributor we will manage how to minimize Marketing lost and turn this situation for a bigger visibility of the products and also for the Quality Management System followed by Singing Rock division of Lanex a.s.
The results of periodic internal Quality Control show that for some harness model CRUX,
NARA and NEMO the strength required on the waist belt based on the EN 12277 European Standard was not fulfilled (*). The problem appears on the production line when the parts (i and ii at the diagram A – figure 1) responsible for distribution of the load from the main webbing to the “lace webbing” (iii at the diagram A – figure 1) are inappropriate for inspection and the stitch did not properly connect parts together (ii and iii at the diagram A – figure 3) offering a risk of Hazard.
A new solution is already found for the current issue and it is in process of certification. The main idea of construction remains for the model CRUX since it is an ultimate light sport climbing harness. NARA and NEMO will have construction modification once they are already multi purpose harness with 3 buckles and they will present webbing running all the way around of the waist belt as it is presented on GURU and MIDI from the actual model of harness from Singing Rock.
UP TO NOW THERE ARE NO REPORTS OF THIS DEFECT COMING FROM
NORMAL USE. Nonetheless, Singing Rock is acting pro-actively on this matter given the
potential casualty hazard.
From the 20th of June Singing Rock will be able to start the distribution of the exchanged
products. At the moment we ask to STOP all the sales and return immediately all the stock in house and all the stock possible to get back from Shops and other partners that Singing Rock will organize the transport back and confirm the delivery date for the replacement (all this process will be administrated by one of the export sales manager that all partners normally deal with). This Preventive Recall need to be communicated to all possible parts (magazines, newspaper, digital medias, etc) to reach as maximum number of end user and make sure that all these “Climbers” will receive as soon as possible a new product in reposition.
