Earlier today, Ashlea Morris our Sales and Marketing Executive went on air and proposed the ultimate cleaning challenge to Signal 1’s breakfast show presenter Perry Spiller.Perry will carry out his challenge at Britannia stadium along with our IRATA Technical Services Team. We hope this event will raise the profile of Rope Access Techniques and demonstrate the full training required to perform such tasks safely.
The Total Access Team have been putting Perry through his paces at their Staffordshire based Training Centre. After his breakfast show Perry attended a training course, which was led by Training Manager Mark Lee in preparation for his High Level Cleaning Challenge. Perry has been taught the basic knowledge and techniques of Rope Access in order for him to complete his challenge correctly and safely.
Whilst at the centre Perry also met with our Technical Services Cleaning Manager Stuart Alcock who will be accompanying him on the day. Stuart talked Perry through the event and gave him a taste of what was to come. Stuart also observed some of Perry’s training and was pretty impressed. He said “Perry took to the rope access training well and am looking forward to seeing his window cleaning skills, maybe a career change is on the cards?”
Local students from Staffordshire University have assisted in filming the event. You can view a short video of Perry’s training http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPr-qWXaOVI
