Total Access (UK) Ltd have teamed up with Humberside Offshore Training Association (HOTA) to offer working at height, industrial rope access and vessel entry training for workers in the UK’s oil, gas and emerging wind energy industry.
It was in June 2010 that senior management of both organisations met to discuss the possibility of a liaison to provide the necessary training infrastructure and on 8th June 2011 the official opening took place at HOTA’s Malmo Road facility.
With construction of a purpose built training structure at the Malmo Road facility now complete and a 20 metre telecommunications tower due to be installed in the coming months, the centre is ready to accept training candidates for working at height courses. Construction of a purpose built vessel entry facility designed to cater for offshore vessel entry requirements is also well under way.
On HOTA's Albert Dock site, an existing 25m tower is currently undergoing refurbishment with the installation of a wind turbine column and nacelle planned. The deal means that HOTA and Total Access will deliver both marine and land-based training to satisfy the renewables sector training market.
At the opening Total Access (UK) Ltd CEO Graham Burnett said “we are very proud to be in collaboration with HOTA and view this as a very important venture into supporting the emerging renewables market”
